Bacon

This is a neat little trick I picked up in the restaurant at the age of 13. Let the oven do the cooking for you and it comes out perfect every time.

For 8

Ingredients

1 # Bacon

Directions

Preheat your oven to 400°.

Lay your bacon out on a sheet pan (or cookie sheet) so that it's not overlapping). Pop it in the oven for approximately 20 minutes. I tend to check it at about 15 minutes to see how it's coming along, but 20 minutes should generally do the trick. Perfect bacon, every time.

If you're making something else for breakfast that wants the oven to keep things warm while you're waiting to serve your guests, after you take the bacon out of the oven, drop the oven temp down to 200°, put the bacon on an oven safe plate (or in a pan), and pop it back in to keep it warm.

And don't forget to reserve the bacon grease for home fries! You can even pour it into a jar and save it for a couple of weeks, in case you're making French Onion Soup.
