Coming for Dinner, Staying for Breakfast (#3) S T A Y I N G F O R B R E A K F A S T - September 9, 2004 Just because it's past Labor Day and you've gone back to work doesn't mean that you shouldn't take advantage of the lingering hot days before fall kicks in (and if you live in San Francisco, it's actually feeling like summer now, so...). So call up or email some friends and have a BBQ this weekend while the days are still long-ish. A LATE SUMMER BBQ: Cabin BBQ Sauce The Best Potato Salad in the World Grilled Asparagus Once you've got your asparagus fences, lay them on a sheet pan (or some other kind of pan with a lip) and splash olive oil and dry vermouth over them, and crack some black pepper over them. Make sure to rub the oil and vermouth and pepper over all of them. It should only take about 5 minutes or so per side to get them nicely cooked and a little charred, so figure for 10 - 15 minutes for them on the grill. Enjoy!
