Coming for Dinner, Staying for Breakfast (#8) S T A Y I N G F O R B R E A K F A S T - May 26, 2005 When I first started playing around with the idea of writing a cookbook, and was trying to come up with "the pitch", one of my ideas was to have my angle be that my recipes were for the single person trying to woo that special someone. Ok, ok, that was pretty much my only idea. Well, that and trying to help de-mystify cooking. But really, making a fancy dinner and winding up with a breakfast guest was the basic gist. That said, my breakfast pans haven't seen any action in a while, so I figured I'd try to put my skills to use for y'all. I've had a few people mention that they have ideas for a dinner, or thoughts on ingredients, but that they don't know either how to make the meal, or what to do with the ingredients to have the follow up be coffee and French toast. And I thought "hey, why not have a little contest". Here's how it'll work: You tell me who you are, who you're trying to impress / get to stay for breakfast, and maybe some direction on what you want to make (or just the ingredients). I'll take and choose from all the submissions and pick a "winner", come up with the recipe/menu, and will post it in about a month. Usual caveats apply - I won't do anything nefarious with your email address or name, and if you win and don't want your real name used, I'll make one up. THE CONTEST!
