Welcome to Staying for Breakfast, Coming for Dinner's newsletter.
Happy 2005! I hope you all had a happy holiday season, filled with good food and company, and that your new year is off to a great start. I was back East cooking (and shovelling) for the holidays, got a nice new fancy All Clad pan from Santa, a homemade butcher's block from my dad, righteous barware from my sister and her husband, and a spice shelf made out of a skateboard from my girlfriend. So you could say my year's off to a pretty solid start.
And what follows shortly after the New Year? That's right - the Super Bowl. Time to throw a party.
SUPER BOWL PARTY:
The Super Bowl's always a great opportunity to have a bunch of friends over, even if you're not the biggest football fan in the world. Break out some beers, have some snacks, and watch the game, expensive commercials, and possible wardrobe malfunctions. And this year you get the added bonus of watching the Patriots trounce all over the Eagles.
Chili
Always a crowd pleaser, and something you can make in advance so you don't miss any of the game.

Cabin BBQ Sauce
Providing you can find your grill under several feet of snow, fire it up and BBQ up some ribs...

Pizza / Calzones
Don't even *think* about ordering your pizza out - make the dough the night before, and have homemade pizza during the game.

Have fun, and go Pats!
COMING SOON:
Two words: Mardi Gras.
